Metall-Polymer – new material for impost fixation – is a victory over a «cold bridge» on the place of joining between frame and impost. It has other advantages too.
This revolutional material, which principal component is glass-nylon composite, has been used in military, space and car industry for a long time. Using such materials, Germany produces car internal combustion engine, which for 99% consists of Polymer materials.
For producing mechanical impost joints in PVC windows our company uses materials of Russian and European manufacture with the same name Metall-Polymer.
Advantages of impost fixation made of Metall-Polymer material:
• such impost joint prevents freezing in the joint units – there is no cold bridge;
• when the glass unit sags and touches impost joint, the glass unit does not crack;
• Strength of this fixation exceeds several times maximally possible loads on the mechanical impost joints (test results and conclusion);
• the joint does not oxidize and darken and keeps its aesthetic look with time;
• using this type of fixation keeps outlook of the open leaf aesthetic and accurate;
• the price of such joint is 15-30 % lower than that of fixation made of Zn-Al-Cu alloy because of the light unit weight of Metall-Polymer materials.
